Hourly Payrate Markup

The markup fee includes:

  • Payroll processing and administration

  • Employer’s portion of employee taxes and insurances (e.g., FICA, FUTA, SUI, Workers' Comp)

  • Recruiting and hiring costs (advertising, interviewing, reference checks, etc.)

  • Termination-related expenses (unemployment claim management, severance)

  • Human resources support and employee management, including time tracking, attendance, coaching, and disciplinary actions

This all-inclusive rate ensures seamless workforce management with no hidden costs.

The bill rate charged to the customer is the employee’s hourly pay plus a 50% markup. For example, if the employee earns $16.00 per hour, the customer is billed $24.00 per hour.

Conversion Fees (Under 360 hours)

Companies may choose to hire a Vangst entry-level employee (earning less than $21.00 per hour) before they reach 360 hours of work (approximately 9 weeks) by paying a $2,000 conversion fee.

Conversion Fees (Over 360 hours)

Companies may hire a Vangst entry-level employee (earning less than $21.00 per hour) after the employee has worked 360 hours (approximately 9 weeks) for a reduced conversion fee of $500.

Payroll Processing & Administration

The Vangst markup includes all employer-related employee Payroll expenses including:

  • Paycheck processing

  • W-2, W-4, I-9, and complete hiring packet management

  • Time clock tracking and oversight

  • Payroll adjustments and corrections

Based on the national average of 13% — the staffing industry’s standard cost benchmark.

Employer's portion of employee's taxes & Insurances

The Vangst markup includes all employer-related taxes and insurance costs, such as:

  • Social Security & Medicare (FICA): 7.65%

  • Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA): 0.80%

  • State Unemployment Insurance (average): 4.10%

  • Workers' Compensation (average): 4.75%

These costs are fully covered within the Vangst markup to ensure compliance and simplify payroll management.

Recruiting / Hiring Cost

The Vangst markup also covers all recruiting and hiring-related expenses, including:

  • Job advertising

  • Candidate testing

  • Reference checks

  • Interview coordination

  • Hiring administration

These recruiting and hiring costs are based on the national average of 12.0%, as reported by the Staffing.org Library.

Termination / Releases

The Vangst markup also includes costs associated with employee terminations and releases, such as:

  • Unemployment claim administration

  • Severance pay

These expenses are based on the national average of 2%, according to data from the U.S. Department of Labor.

Human Resources / Employee Management

The Vangst markup also covers comprehensive employee management and HR services, including:

  • Clock-in and clock-out tracking

  • Attendance monitoring

  • Performance coaching

  • Disciplinary counseling

  • Employee terminations

These services ensure a fully managed workforce without the administrative burden.
